Dear SIDGS Members,
I would like to thank and congratulate the SIDGS Club Championship team members for taking down some stiff competition at the B.C. Club Championships this this past weekend (October 16/17 2021)! The SIDGS Team, listed below, met the best 7 other clubs in BC in the inaugural tournament.
Andrew Leyland, Aleesha Bird, Brad Brown, Braeden Simmonds, Chad Kaila, Chadwick Ellis, Dan Van Egmond, David Simmonds, Gabby Lee, Gryphon Vester, Joe Salkeld, John Kiefer, Kathryn Tang, Kristy Lee, Pat James, Sean Coss, Sylvain Verrier, Tony Pacheco.
This match play format team challenge was organized by Stewart Mcisack, Craig Sheather, and our very own Kristy Lee, and was hosted at the always stunning Raptors Knoll Course in Langley, BC. SIDGS led the tournament after the first round taking 6 out of a possible 7 points. The team then held the lead wire to wire, showcasing the depth of talent from the South Island with nearly every player bringing in points that contributed to our 3-point victory over the runner up Bramble Bashers of Jericho Park. It was an absolute pleasure and honour to be a part of this event with such a talented and determined team of friends. Things are bright for the future of competitive disc golf on the South Island. We are all looking forward to next year with the chance to defend our title. In the meantime, let’s enjoy being the Inaugural BC Club Champs!
