SIDGS at Metchosin Disc Golf Course (MDGC)

DUAL PLAY TRIAL PERIOD starts February 15, 2016

SIDGS is pleased to announce the return of disc golf. this time to the beautiful Metchosin Golf Course. We have partnered with Metchosin Golf Course for a trial run of DUAL PLAY (ball and disc golf played at the same time). Starting Monday Feb 15 disc golfers will be able to play 18 challenging holes with baskets at MDGC located at 4100 Metchosin Rd, Metchosin BC.

Disc golf will be available daily after 12:30pm from Feb 15 until early April. This is a Pay-to-Play course and rates will be similar to those that were charged at Prospect Lake with SIDGS members will getting a discounted green fee rate.

Players are urged to book tee times as some days can be quite busy, especially if it is good ball golf weather. To book a tee time or for general enquiries, please call MDGC at 250-478-3266. See their website here

After the trial run period time a full assessment will be conducted on how well disc golf has been received and how well the game is integrated with the ball golfers. The ultimate goal is to have regular access to this course throughout the year.

SIDGS is planning 2 tournaments this season, one in April and one in October. And SIDGS Disc Night is also set to return this spring and summer.

The Golden rule of DUAL PLAY is that ball golfers ALWAYS get priority. This is a trial period and most ball golfers have not played alongside of disc golfers. Remember your etiquette; we are guests at MGC and should conduct ourselves in an appropriate manner. Liquor may not be brought on to the course. MGC does have refreshments for sale at the club house.

As it was at PLGC, Greens are OB and must be repaired if your disc marks up the surface. And be advised that the course is still a little wet, so proper footwear is recommended.

SIDGS is excited about the opportunity to get a legitimate disc golf course on the South Island.

Happy Hucking!!
