Annual General Meeting:

The SIDGS Annual General Meeting is scheduled for 2 weeks from today:

When: 7:00 pm Thursday November 30, 2017.

Where: Meeting Room – Denny’s in Colwood

Note: Only current members can attend the meeting.

Refer to the member list at

If you plan on attending please RSVP to confirm your attendance. If there are a large number of member attendees, the location may need to be changed.

SIDGS Annual Membership:

SIDGS has been working on some new membership options so the annual membership renewal blitz has been delayed.

Most memberships were set to expire on August 31, 2017.

Because of this delay, SIDGS has extended all current memberships until the end of the year, now expiring on Dec 31, 2017.

The most significant change to the annual membership is the cost. Annual membership fee will reduce from $25 to $15.

All memberships will now run from Jan 1 – Dec 31.

In addition to the drop in base price, bag tags will be included in the first 50 members to join or renew. Previously the bag tag cost an additional $10. Secure your membership and bag tag by renewing or joining today.

SIDGS Membership benefits include:

·       Discounts on Metchosin DG Green Fees

·       Bag Tag (first 50 new or renewed members)

·       BCDSS membership: Insurance for sanctioned tournaments

·       Attendance at AGM

·       Attendance at other member only events

·       Promoting and growing the sport of disc golf

·       Renewals or new memberships can be completed at Metchosin Disc Golf Course (MDGC) or by visiting the SIDGS website where payments can be made by PayPal or Email Money Transfer.

Note: The $15 membership fee is a zero gain for SIDGS. $10 of each membership goes to BCDS membership and remaining $5 is used to purchase bag tags.

Bag Tags:

Bag Tags will be included in the 2018 membership; however only the first 50 new or renewing members will receive a bag tag.

Bag Tags will be distributed by a Bag Tag playoff round in early January 2018: date and location to be determined.

If you are eligible for a bag tag but cannot attend the bag tag event, the remaining bag tags will be distributed by lottery.

2018 Spring Chicken:

In April 2018 SIDGS will host the 4th annual Spring Chicken.

This year we will have access to the Metchosin Disc Golf Course in the morning; 8:30 am registration, 9:30 am players meeting and a 10:00 am shotgun start.

SIDGS has also negotiated a reduced fee to use the course this year resulting in a larger cash prize payout: cash prizes for open and advanced divisions

Saanich Parks and Recreation Update:

SIDGS continues to work with Saanich Recreation by hosting introduction disc golf events in various Saanich Parks. These pop-up courses have been very well received in the past and we are looking to expand options in 2018.

Past events have for the most part been geared towards beginners and novice players; the New Year will have layouts more suitable to intermediate and advanced players.

In the works are proposals to have single baskets permanently setup in select parks. Not only will these be ideal for putting practice for seasoned players, but will also work as a talking point for those that know little of the sport.

Baskets will likely have nine putting positions located at progressively longer distances to allow “Around Nine” game to be played.

SIDGS has several ongoing and upcoming projects and the help of volunteers is greatly appreciated. If you are interested in lending a hand at future work parties, please message SIDGS at we will put your name on our contact list and as projects come along we will get in touch with you.

Ongoing projects include Metchosin tee box improvements and Discovery School Disc Park course maintenance.
